About Us

Mackin Scissors was formed in November 2006 by Louise and Sharon Mackin, 2 sisters who until that point had been working for well known high street chains but had always wanted to open their own salon. Having lived in Burnt Oak all their lives they always wanted their own salon to be based there and when the original site on Silkstream Parade became available, they made the move and set up on their own.

As well as the experience that the 2 sisters had developed over the years, they also wanted the salon to reflect the quality of their work throughout and the decor and ambience of the salon were equally as important to them. The attention to detail can be seen throughout the salon which has been fitted with all the latest accessories and is designed to make you feel as comfortable as possible whilst having your hair done.

In the summer of 2007, the building next door became available and it was decided to expand the hair salon into this space and incorporate a beauty salon. By opening up the salon and utilising the large areas downstairs, they have been able to install a number of beauty treatment rooms as well as top of the range spray tan and UV tan solutions.
